About the Studio

Studio Limn is a Stellenbosch-based architecture and interior design office working across multiple scales and building typologies. We see architecture as a process of careful listening, listening to PEOPLE, PLACE, and to PURPOSE. Our work at Studio Limn is characterised by calm, deliberate gestures and a strong sense of material presence where every project grows out of its context.

The studio is led by Dylan and Sarah, whose combined experience spans architecture and interior design projects nationally and internationally. With a shared commitment to thoughtful, site-responsive design, their architectural responses balance conceptual clarity, material expression, and technical detail.

We believe in collaboration, our design process is iterative and research-led, informed by context, budget, and the client brief. As a studio we value curiosity, precision, and most importantly experimentation.

Our name "Limn", speaks to the act of drawing something out – to describe, to reveal, to sketch. This spirit of exploration and articulation shapes how we think about architecture.

About Dylan and Sarah

Studio limn is led by Dylan and Sarah, two SACAP registered architects, whose combined experience in architecture and interior design projects span nationally and internationally. Dylan and Sarah share a commitment to thoughtful, site-responsive design solutions that are rooted in conceptual clarity, material expression, and technical detail.

Dylan and Sarah, having met at university while completing their undergraduate degree in Architectural Studies, have developed a shared interest for a collaborative and iterative design process where every member of the design team is heard. Their work is shaped by close client-collaboration, design rigour, and a respect for material and technical honesty.

Dylan maintains an interest in the broader design discourse through his involvement in part-time lecturing and architectural writing. Dylan is currently lecturing on a part-time basis at the Inscape Education Group's Stellenbosch Learning Hub.

Sarah, upon completing her Master of Architecture degree, completed a diploma in Interior Design at the Interior Design Institute and contributes to broadening Studio Limn's service offering through her knowledge of the overlaps between the architectural and interior design discourses.

Whether it's a home, a development, or something in between, Dylan and Sarah bring care, clarity, and curiosity to every stage of the process.
